Dr. Apt results! We are ready to GO!!

Friends and family,

We have had our Dr. apt and we had some great news!!! All of my levels are at the appropriate levels and they look great!! We have the green light to begin the process!!

We are going to be picking out our sperm and we have to have that into the Drs hands by next week! We have our work cut out for us as this is a very hard process to make sure that we pick the sperm we feel comfortable with. We DID find out that I am CMV negative and that only affects around 20% of people so that will limit the sperm we can pick from. We have to pick someone that is CMV negative because it could cause birth defects if the person is CMV positive. We have to decide how many sperm we order because he wants us to order at least 3 vials BUT that is VERY expensive! Not sure we want to do that :( The dr said we can just do 1 at a time but then if the first one doesn't work we have to be on the ball to order the 2nd one pretty quickly and so on! Each vial costs either $790 or $890 dollars, depending on if the donor is anonymous or open.  Pray that we can decide how many to get and that we will be able to afford it.

So the next step is to order the sperm and get that done. I then have to wait, again, until my next cycle starts. I then call them and tell them it's starts and they will tell me when to come in for blood work and an ultrasound to check everything out. We will know the results in about 3-4 hours to see how everything is responding. I will have to take 50 mg of Clomid to help my eggs develop more. I will also have to take an injection of HCG hormone called Ovedryl which will signal to induce ovulation. I will then go in and do the actual IUI sometime in the beginning to middle of May!

So now we wait until my next cycle starts and then we will begin the FINAL process!! I can't believe that this is actually happening! I am so excited to get this going :)

Please Pray
- That we find the PERFECT sperm
- That we decide how many we sperm we can order and the money will be there for it.
- Pray that when I do go on Clomid that I don't have major side effects
- Pray that this happens and I get pregnant the FIRST time. The Dr said it's about a 20-25% success rate and it usually takes more than 1 time.

Once I have my cycle and we get the dates in place I will update you again!
